Philo Affiliates of GGS
Our History
The Philo Affiliate were established in 1943 when Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. officially organized the affiliate group and gave them the name "Philo", meaning "friend" in Latin. The Philo Affiliates have dedicated countless hours in community service across the Southeast and worldwide. They work closely with our Graduate chapters in supporting the national service projects of our organization.

A Good Book is a Good Step to Seeing the World
Change for the Better
Education has always been an important part of the Sigma Gamma Rho and Philo Affiliates. In 2021, we began raising books for children who do not get the opportunity to read a book and take that book home. We have partnered up with or community's Literacy Coalition to help those books get into children's hand.

Education
Another way the Philo Affiliates are active in the community is with offering scholarships for graduating high school student. The organization takes donations as well as fundraises through the year in order to offer scholarships to deserving students.

We also take time every year to give to two families around Thanksgiving. Whether it is a gift card or a beautiful basket full of fresh food.
